Stations of the Cross for the Sainthood Cause

The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Via Crucis, is a tradition that commemorates the events of Good Friday and the Jesus Christ's journey as he carries his cross to his crucifixion. This practice involves meditating on 14 specific moments in the Passion of Christ, including his condemnation, the fall under the weight of the cross, and his crucifixion.

It is often observed during Lent, particularly on Fridays, as a way for believers to reflect on Jesus' suffering and sacrifice. Through prayer and contemplation at each station, participants deepen their faith and understanding of the significance of Christ's journey.

We offer these instructions for meditating the stations for the sainthood cause of canonization of Venerable Father Augustus Tolton.
